About The Paintings

My paintings are created using professional grade high viscosity acrylic paints and mediums. All
are rated good to excellent for light fastness and pigment load.

My preferred canvases are 10-ounce cotton duck, double or triple acrylic primed, and are
mounted on kiln dried stretchers, stretched with splines. The edges are staple-free and most
works are painted to wrap around the edges so the painting may be hung without a  frame.

I varnish the work with a mineral spirit based varnish with a gloss finish. The varnish is UV
stabilized for protection against fading.

I also create works on found objects, wood, and paper. These materials include wooden door
panels, old drawing boards, breadboards, birch plywood, MDF board, masonite, cereal boxes,
pizza boxes, cardboard, handmade paper, rag board, acid-free rag paper, and pH neutral
synthetics. While all attempts are made to produce the highest quality images some of these
materials are not acid-free.

If a work on paper is presented as matted it is in a 4-ply acid-free mat. It will be hinged with
acid-free linen tape and will have an acid-free back board. Any other attachments, such as glues
or double sided tape will be acid-free as well.

Fine artwork should hung in indirect light; avoid florescent lighting and direct sunlight. It should
also be hung away from sources of direct heat such as fireplaces or radiators and it should be
protected from excessive dampness; avoid hanging in bathrooms, on damp outside walls, or on
chimneys, for example.

My paintings may be gently cleaned with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. If they become badly
soiled or damaged it's advisable to consult a professional painting conservation studio for help.

My aim is to create powerful artworks whose designs and messages may be enjoyed for years
to come.
